The Stray Dogs of Shimla.

"It was a usual walk on the mall , when i happened to pass by a bookstore .
My eyes
went on this book, with the title " How to find GOD". Just beside the bookstore there were three little puppies, shivering, maybe because of the cold or because they had not eaten anything for days. True. I see God in these wonderful creations. Yes, i see him in animals. At the same time, feel bad, when other people see my God as mere unwanted creatures, a burden on Earth."

Today, April 4, though unofficial, is seen and celebrated  as  " World Stray Animal Day ". Clearly, this day does not receive the value it deserves . However, celebrating this day is nothing close, as many find it an embarrassment to even show some respect and love to those poor creatures on the streets.  Many people,  in many places , wont care about this day at all. For many, it is just another ,selfish, day of their lives .

Very recently, the High Court directed the  Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) to " make the city free of the canines seen moving all over the place in large packs." Shimla is to be made a stray dog free city within 3 months of time, hence allowing the MC to legally not spend even a single penny for the well being of these poor animals . And knowing the inhuman nature of the MC, they will not hesitate to do anything to fulfill this "task" of theirs.

An Animal Shelter is a place where one would consider the animals living in it, safe , secure and healthy, with proper caring and management . However, it was very shocking to see the poor , and filthy way the dogs were being treated , and kept in the Dog Shelter at Shimla. The Pawsome Drive,  an animal lovers group from Shimla itself , have shown the condition  these dogs  have to live in at the dog shelter in this video below.

This truly is a shocking site to see. Below are some more photographs ,showing how the dogs are locked up in cages, and are fed disgusting and completely unhygienic food.

Clearly, we can see that the stray dogs living on the streets are lucky enough for not being locked up inside this "Shelter".  However, if we humans neglect the existence of these poor animals who are on the streets, then these poor beings have no hope at all, for a Life
We Humans must understand, that this planet was not made solely for us. All animals have equal rights to live and to breathe. Have we humans become so selfish, that we steal these away from them?
Today is World Stray Animals Day, a day we should pay some respect to these poor creatures. Take a moment , and think how the society treats these animals, how the government treats these animals.... how you treat these animals.
Let  us not make "Animals" become a symptom of "Torture". Being Human, it is time to raise the voice of the voiceless. What was once lost, it is time to establish their Haqq back again.
